Santa's village is alive all year, not only at Christmas. Day and night, the elves work, the reindeer rest and the weather changes. In winter there is polar night, when the sun stays below the horizon, and in summer there is midnight sun, when it never sets. Santa even practises with his sleigh. These Christmas activities for kids let you join in with whatever is happening right now.
Feed the Reindeer takes you to the paddock, where you can hand out carrots and find out which reindeer have favourites. Ring the Factory Bell and every elf looks up from their work to see who rang it. You can ring it once an hour, so choose your moment well.
When the village is dark, Light a Lantern is a lovely thing to do. You place a lantern with your first name on the path, and it glows through the polar night for others to see. Please use a first name only. Then see if you can Spot the Cat. Snowball the cat hides somewhere new each hour, so there is always a fresh search to enjoy.
Weather Wish lets you vote on tomorrow's weather in the village. Will it be snowy, clear or cloudy? Come back tomorrow and see whether the wish came true. It is a gentle way to follow the village day after day.
Everything here is free, needs no sign-up and works on phones, so children can explore on a tablet or a parent's phone without any fuss. Watch the village on the live map, then try each of these small adventures. They are quick to play, easy to understand and made to be calm, kind and cosy for young children and the grown-ups beside them. If you are new to the site, begin with the carrots, then ring the bell, then go looking for Snowball. By the time you have done all five, you will know the village very well, and you will have a favourite spot to come back to. Little ones can tap along with a grown-up, and older children can play on their own.
